The Tent Peg
Today a horrific migraine, I took the normal medications and lay in bed waiting in the dark, the cold and the quiet; for this monster to leave. Instead, about 2 -3 hours into it something much worse came. It felt as though a large spike or peg had been driven in through the top of my head and into my skull with a hammer. I could actually feel the momentum of the entire process and the agony and pain.
My whole body trembled from the trauma of this, it was not a dream or a vision; this was an actual migraine event and the pain was very real. After the initial pain of it, my thoughts went to Jesus. I thought about those spikes driven through his wrists and feet and I knew I had experienced a portion of His pain. I cried out to Him, I was so grieved that He had to go through such agony.
As I lay there praying for Jesus, for what had happened to Him, I began praying for the people in the Philippines and others I knew were in distress or had not yet made a decision for Jesus. I sensed the Holy Spirit nudging me, that there was more to be learned from my experiencing this. I thought about the spike being driven into my brain with a hammer, most often when a spike or peg is driven into something, it is done so that it will stay put for a very long time. Common thoughts along this line might be tent pegs, railroad nails and the list goes on.
Whatever the spike is being driven into, both are intended to remain together for a very long time.
God is so amazing, He took me to the Book of Zechariah and this is what I read.
“For the teraphim (cult oracles) utter nonsense and the diviners see lies; the dreamers tell false dreams and give empty consolation. Therefore the people wander like sheep; they suffer for lack of a shepherd.
My anger is hot against the shepherds and I will punish the leaders; for the Lord of Hosts cares for His flock, the house of Judah and will make them like His proud war horse.
Out of them shall come the cornerstone, out of them shall come the tent peg, out of them the battle bow, out of them every commander.
Together they shall be like warriors in battle, trampling the foe in the mud of the streets; they shall fight, for the Lord is with them and they shall put to shame the riders on their horses.” Zechariah 10:2-5
When I combine the experience I had today with the scripture, I am truly amazed.
God has had enough of false God’s, false Prophets, false Pastors and false Seer’s. He states clearly how to recognize them, a false God or idol is exactly that, false and they speak things that don’t make sense, the false Seers are lying about what they say God has showed them, the false Prophets tell people “all is well” when it’s not and say they have had a dream from God when God did not give that dream. These false one’s tell the people “do not dismay, no distress will come your way” and this is a great deception.
God hates that His people are following after false shepherds, prophets and seers when He has legitimate ones in His Household! God further states He is about to punish these false ones.
God say’s that “out of His people” (and that means those who are following the truth not easy words that tickle the ear), will come the cornerstone – and He did, the cornerstone is Jesus. He said out of His people will come the tent peg – a people who cannot be moved or swayed away from Him. Out of His Household will come the battle bow and every one a commander – those who are willing to fight for His truth and walk in His authority. He says that when His Household is aligned with Him, His Son and His Holy Spirit, we will be as great warriors in battle and that we will win the battle putting our enemies to shame.
God is looking for a people who will be His forever, for Shepherds and leaders, for Prophets and Seers who will speak the truth, even when it involves frightful and challenging times ahead. He wants a people willing to lay down their lives for the truth. He wants the truth to be spoken about His requirements on us, how we are to live morally and spiritually; without watering it down to make it acceptable to those involved in things that God deems to be sin and even abominations in some cases.
God is looking for a people who will hold onto His word as though it were hammered into their minds with a peg or spike and it will never be moved. He wants us to fight for His truth as though we were commanding officers in His military unit. He states if we do this, we will win the battle.
This battle begins in the spiritual realm and translates into the physical realm, meaning we must be conquerors within our own heart and mind so that it translates into our actions and deeds. We are all aware that we are in the end times, the Book of Revelation testifies to that fact along with Daniel, Ezekiel, Ezra, Matthew and so many more. The battle is the salvation of souls, it is the biggest mission on the field and the most important one we will ever engage in.
The cornerstone has come, the tent peg is being driven in, we are being equipped for battle and being called out as commanders.
